Beautifully integrated oak aromas and silky smooth on the palate, with rich black fruit flavours and vanilla spice.
A great match with rich, red meat dishes such as steaks and lamb.
Soligamar estate bottled Rioja comes from vineyards located between 500 to 700 metres above the village of Tudelilla in the Rioja Baja district. The vineyards are on rocky soils which aids drainage. The vines are planted 1.5 metres apart and yield small quantities of intensely flavoured juice. Winemaking is in the hands of Carmelo Ortega whose grandfather first discovered the true potential of this unique vineyard location. The Soligamar Rioja wines are exceptionally well made with great structure and elegance. This Crianza Rioja is beautifully made with attractive notes of vanilla oak. Aged in a mixture of French and American oak for around 12 months.
The wine is matured in French and American oak for 12 months.
Winemaker and Enologist, Camelo Ortega was born in 1964 in Tudelilla and has dedicated his whole life to Rioja wines. The oregins of his winery `Bodegas y Viñedos Ortega Ezquerro` date back to 1896, when the first grapevines were planted by his great-grandfather, Don Qunitin Ortega near Tudelilla. In 1998, Carmelo, inspired by the geological characteristics of his vineyards, revived the winery. His wines have receive numerous awards on a national and international level.
