Tasting Notes

Pol Roger Brut Vintage Rose is pale raspberry with fine copper glints. The nose is opulent and well structured, bursting with ripe fruits on the nose, including pomegranate, red currant and raspberry and a rich spicy depth. The palate is taut, with a refreshing backbone of acidity, that rounds out to a sensation of bursting redcurrants. A lively finish that is impressively long with a tease of vanilla on the finish that rounds out the experience.

Wine Making Notes

To create the pale salmon pink colour of this rosé around 15% red wine is added to the final assemblage, which would otherwise include approximately equal quantities of the three Champagne grape varieties. Ageing on lees in bottle lasts at least three years prior to disgorging, helping to produce a rosé Champagne with real character.

About the Producer

Pol Roger could be described as one of the best Grand Marques on the market and was the favourite Champagne of Sir Winston Churchill. Its character is always elegant yet with added depth and complexity. Their NV Brut is made from equally quantities of the three classic Champagne grapes and is consistently brilliant, while their top Cuvee Winston Churchill is highly sought after. Long bottle maturation and a healthy dose of reserve wines in their blends helps keep this house at the top of their game.
