A rich, intense single vineyard Malbec from low yielding vines.
Pairs well with rich pasta dishes, mature hard chesse, chargrilled steak and seared tuna.
The grapes are grown in a single vineyard called Altepes, located in Los Arboles, Uco Valley, Mendoza, at an elevation of 4.101ft above sea level, where the soil is rich with minerals from melting ice caps. The meso climate of Los Arboles although very sunny, is cooler than other parts of the Uco Valley with extremes of temperature between day and night, which greatly assists in the development of colour and aromatics in the grapes. The wine is made from 100% Malbec grapes, which are all hand harvested. Yields are kept very low and only 1 bottle of wine per vine is produced. The wine is aged in new oak for 12- 14 months.
The best grapes are carefully hand selected, fermentation takes place over 7 days in small stainless steal tanks with controlled temperature. The wine is then aged for 12 - 14 months in new French oak barrels and, after blending, is further aged for another 9 months in bottle before being released.
Raleo Malbec is exclusive to Grape Passions and is made for us by Bodega Enrique Foster in Mendoza. Their state of the art winery operates on gravity flow, avoiding the need for unnecessary pumping of the wine. Their wines are consistently of high quality and fruit driven in style.
