This is the premium sparkling wine from Limney. There is a touch of smoke on the nose with an apple crumble character coming through. The yeasty flavours on the palate are balanced superbly by the strong Pinot Noir character which shows ripe strawberries and a limey fresh quality but finishing nice and dry.
Uses organically grown grapes which are made into this sparkling wine using the same process as in Champagne. Following gentle pressing the wine is aged for three years on lees in bottle to develop richness and complexity. After bottle ageing, the wine is disgorged and released.
Davenport Vineyards is run by Will Davenport who has been making wines for over 20 years, building from a small start up to a collection of vineyard sites that total 24 acres straddling Kent and East Sussex. The winery is located in East Sussex. Will grows his grapes organically. His vineyards plantings include Bacchus, Pinot Noir and Huxelrebe amongst others. The winery produces gorgeous English fizz as well as aromatic whites from Bacchus and silky Pinot Noir. Will has previously been awarded English Winemaker of the year and once you try his wines you see why!
