Fleurie is one of the most famous villages in Beaujolais. This Fleurie comes from the hamlet of Le Vivier, which is characterised by its pink granite soils. Behind the production of this delicious Fleurie is female producer, Claude Grosjean, who took over the vineyards from her father. Many of the vines are over 50 years old and are worked in a sustainable way without use of artificial herbicides or chemical fertilizers. The wines are fermented in large oak casks and a small amount of the wine is aged in small oak barrels. This is text book Fleurie with real character and personality, beautiful, pure and silky, with notes of blackcurrant and red fruits.
Fermentation on skins in large oak vats with pumping over to extract colour and flavour. The final wine is aged in large oak casks and a small proportion in smaller oak barrels for 9 months and after a light filtration, the wine is bottled.
The estate of Grand Garant takes its name from the famous Côte des Garants, which combines the most beautiful climates of the Cru Fleurie. The vineyards are situated in the hamlet of Le Vivier, on the eastside of the Fleurie Appellation, the producer is Mme Claude Grosjean, who took over from her father. Many of the vines are over 50 years old, they grow in soil composed of pink sand and granite rocks and are worked in a sustainable way without use of artificial herbicides or chemical fertilizers.
