Complex in aromas, the nose is intense with notes of red fruit, flowers and dried herbs. The palate is dry, full and harmonious. Rich tannins and characteristics of old oak combined with significant acid gives a strong, long earthy finish. These wines are considered by most to be amongst Italy`s finest.
Hand harvested grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks for a lengthy 20 days to extract high amounts of colour and flavour. The resulting wine is then aged for over 3 years in oak barrique, before being blended and bottled. The wine is then aged for a further 6 months in the bottle before release. The extensive use of barriques for ageing the Barolo helps to craft a more approachable style with richness yet also maintaining a silky edge.
