Lalande Borie was set up in the 1970’s by the Borie family who acquired land from Chateau Lagrange to form the estate. The vineyards cover 22 hectares of which Cabernet Sauvignon makes up the majority planting. Chateau Lalande Borie is a powerful red with aromas of black fruits and cedar wood.
Long fermentation on skins over 2 to 3 weeks followed by ageing in oak barriques, 30% of which are renewed each year. After around 15 to 18 months ageing the final wine is blended and bottled.
Located to the west of the Saint-Julien appellation, the estate of Château Lalane Borie is set in the heart of terrories of several renowned classified growth. Château Lalande Borie was founded in 1970 by Jean Eugène Borie on the Lalande terroir , to which he added his family name. That same year he bought from a classified growth in Saint Julien.Today, managed by Jean-Eugène Borie SA, this wine has rapidly created a fine reputation. It belongs to Mrs Jean-Eugène Borie, her daughter Sabine Coiffe and her son Bruno Eugène.
