Chateau Beaumont is located on the left bank of the Gironde river between the communes of Saint Julien and Margaux. The sandy, gravelly soils in the vineyards are well suited to growing Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, which typically make up the majority of the final wine in conjunction with Merlot. The hallmark of this property is to make rich yet supple Claret.
Long fermentation on skins between 2 to 3 weeks with pumping over to aid extraction. The final wine is aged in a mixture of oak barriques between 1 to 3 years old for 12 to 14 months. Following final blending the wine is further aged in bottle before release.
The origins of the vineyard of Chateau Beaumont date back to 1824, thirty years later its splendid Renaissance style castle was built. Various famous owners have brought Beaumont to the forefront of the `Crus Bourgeois Superieurs`, and the estate continues to hold this position.
