The house of Beaumont des Crayères was founded in 1955 by a group of grape growers whose shared passion resulted in them pooling their resources together and establishing a world class Champagne brand. Beaumont is based in Epernay and derives its name from `nice or cute hill` in reference to the hill of Beaumont directly behind the winery. Because the grape growers of Beaumont are also its owners they have total control over the quality and supply of their grapes, which ensures consistency of quality other Champagne houses can only dream of. Their grape pressing centre is one of the most technologically advanced in Champagne, ensuring high quality is maintained. Fleur de Prestige is a vintage champagne made from the best free run juice. Typically the blend consists of 50% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir and 10% Pinot Meunier. The wine is aged for around 5 years on lees before being disgorged. A mature fully flavoured vintage champagne for the price of many a non vintage branded champagne !
Only produced in the best years and aged for around 5 years on lees before disgorging which creates a rich mature style of champagne.
Based in Epernay and founded in 1955, Beaumont des Crayères is a small champagne house with around 80 hectares under vine. The style of this champagne house is to consistently produce elegant, very well made champagnes which are rounded in character, helped by a high percentage of Pinot Meunier in the blend and good bottle ageing. In 1955, a group of wine growers from the village of Mardeuil, a small village on the hillsides of Epernay, joined forces to set up a Champagne House. Presses and cellars were inaugurated for the first harvest in 1958. The name of one of the finest hillsides in Mardeuil, Beaumont des Crayères, was chosen as the name of the brand out of pride in the quality of the vineyard, Beaumont means `lovely hill`. The rose found at the centre of their coat of arms symbolises their attachment to the vines and the fine qualities of their terroirs. Thanks to the quality of its champagnes, the brand soon established itself in the export market, selling to numerous countries around the world.
